Golden stonefly, this one was caught on the Upper Kern River on a June trek in 2007. They'll usually hatch around May-June. The problem fly fishing during this time of the year is the high runoff, so it could be a hit or miss due to the high flows.

Nicely captured!
I can't believe I just read this comment, thanks. It was shot with a P&S Optio s60, that little camera went for a swim in the Kern River and no longer functions though. Good little cameras for sure, Pentax has long since came out with nice waterproof cameras.
