The LBC

Had the pleasure of spending the morning with some online friends that all share the same passion, we all have the fly fishing bug.

We all decided to meet up in the LBC for some early morning fly fishing action. That's exactly what it was, early morning action. The yellowfin croaker were on the chew from about 5am to 6am... it was as if someone turned off a switch on the fish or something of the sorts and all action just stopped.

No matter, the short lived bite was fine in my book. It was really nice to just be able to hang out with some online friends, some faces were new to me and others were familiar faces from previous meet and greets.

Where's the fish?
Some of the guys wondering why the bite just shut off. Left me scratching my head...

When the bite shut off we decided to make the drive down the road to one of the back bays to see if we could get a little action going. I wish I could say the fishing was wide open, it wasn't though. The fishing still remained slow and the only action was when Justin hooked into something fairly strong and quickly was broken off.

Gobi
Here is a close look at one ugly little Gobi or small Sculpin, I'm just not sure what the heck it is. This is the only fish photo I was able to take on this morning.

Clouser
Fly of choice for some of the guys was this version of a clouser minnow.

The Beach
It was quite a nice group of fly fishers, as you can see from the photo, we had plenty of elbow room.

I'm definitely looking forward to wetting a line or just hanging out with all these cool cats in the near future. Guys, if you ever read this, I had a blast hanging with all of you. I wish the fishing could have been better, we all know that's just fishing.

Cheers!
